Stedin Group and VolkerWessels reach agreement on Joulz Energy Solutions

Rotterdam, 3 May 2018 – Stedin Group and Koninklijke VolkerWessels will sign a provisional purchase agreement for the acquisition of Joulz Energy Solutions (JES). The plan is for Visser & Smit Hanab, part of VolkerWessels, to become the owner of JES from 1 July 2018. The acquisition gives JES a powerful new owner, and its 160 employees retain their jobs.

The Stedin Group, of which Stedin is also the regulated grid manager, focuses mainly on the energy transition and keeping the energy networks reliable. JES is a specialist in complex medium and high voltage systems. The commercial activities of JES (work not related to Stedin) no longer suit the activities and strategy of the network company. For this reason, Stedin Group set out to look for a new owner, finding it in VolkerWessels.
